Li Kao jogs his memory, which is luckily not too addled at the momment, for references in magic or religeon to seven pointed stars. He does rembmber seeing a seven pointed star rune on several very old tomes of arcana dating back to the ancient empire of Thassilon, but cannot recall any reference to its specific meaning.  Thassilon was a vast empire that ruled over what is now Varisia many centuries ago, but it was destroyed by a series of natural cataclysms that resulted in much of it falling into the ocean and forming what is now the Varisian Gulf.  The colossal Irespan in Magnimar is a relic of this ancient empire.

Xer walked along behind Li Kao, not really paying attention to his ramblings.  Her mind was still reeling, and kept bouncing between the horror she had seen in the Mission nad the revelation that the monks who had raised her had now betrayed her.  Her mind went back to Sasha's note.

"We could go to Sasha."  Xer suggested half heartedly.  "Sandpoint, I think she said."

"Hmm?  Oh Sandpoint.  Yes, wonderful idea.  Enderaki Sorn settled there I believe.  Started a temple a while back.  Then he died.  His daughter runs it last I heard.  Yes, a good idea I think.  So this Sasha... A baroness perhaps?  Or a patroness of the arts - big manor house on a hill, nicely appointed wine celler?"

"Nope, she's a thief."

"Ah, splendid."

OOC:  So Xer and Li Kao are on their way to Sandpoint.  The journy is less than a day on foot if you go along the main road (Lost Coast Road).  If you are feeling paranoid, you can swing through the farmland to the south, avoiding any attention, but doubling the length of the journey.

Xer could hear Li Kao grumbling to himself about "Thassilon" and how "ancient cultures are such a pain in the arse" while he began chucking rotting cabbages out of an unattended cart.
"We'll take the main road cricket."
Li Kao had refered to Xer as 'cricket' many times. An affectionate nickname poking fun at her powerful legs. "I doubt either the city or the temple want to spend time and resources tracking down a couple of vagabond monks.
Xer's quick reflexes caught a flying cabbage aimed at her head. "What's with the cabbages master?"
Li Kao chucked the last cabbage from the cart at Xer which she deftly side stepped.
"I need the cart. Now don't you think just 'cuz were without a temple that you get a break from your training. We've got a day's road ahead of us, so you better get those legs into shape Cricket and start pushing." With that, Li Kao jumped up into the cart, let his feet hang over the side and began drinking.
"Hmmm...could we be dealing with some sort of Thassilon Revival Cult? Or maybe some ancient Thassilon god seeking revenge? Bah! I need more evidence. It could be the Silly-we-love-pointy-stars Cult for all I know. Oh look a butterfly on my foot..."
Xer lowered her head, picked up the handles of the cart and started off for Sandpoint.

“Road most traveled is probably a good choice to keep out of trouble, and by the way old man I would appreciate it if you stopped calling me cricket.” Xerlina raises her voice to emphasise cricket and sticks her tongue out at the old man.

Pushing the cart along Xerlina continues her tirade. “Are you legs broken or are you getting more lazy don’t expect me to push you in the cart the whole way you drunken lout I am only doing it now because I need the exercise.”

“Hmm why would someone kill a common thug like that and carve a seven pointed star into his chest this just makes no sense at all. Well at least it is someone else’s problem right now I only hope they don’t try to blame that foolishness on me.”

“What is the world coming to when you can’t even trust a monk order me to do a duty then sell me down the river see if I ever do anything nice for them again.” Xerlina keeps talking to herself and muttering under her breath occasionally looking over her shoulder back at the city and checking the road ahead. She occasionally glances left and right of the road to any near trees in case there is an ambush of highway men.

OOC: Occasionally she will playfully dump Li Kao off the cart and while she pushes him she aims for the largest bumps. After all he should not get a cushy easy ride.
