For the most part the journey to Sandpoint passes uneventfully, the time filled with playful bickering between student and teacher. As dsuk approaches Li Kao declares it is time to stop for a meal.
"But we're only half an hour outside of town," argued Xer. "If we push on a little more we can enjoy our supper in a warm tavern instead of at the side of a cornfield."
Li Kao sat dow in the grass with a huff. "But I'm hungry now." He stated matter of factly as he tore into the last of the bread and cheese. "And besides, Irori teaches that enlightenment shall not be found in a warm tavern. Or something like that..."
Xer sighed and sank down on her haunches, chewing a piece of cold stale bread.
As the two broke camp and prepared to get back on the road, Xer's keen senses caught a growing rustling noise in the field behind them. With a hiss she waved Li Kao back to the safety of the wagon just as a figure burst out from between the tall corn stalks.
The figure saw them and started to wail and lurch towards them, wringing his hands. Xer tensed and prepared to defend them, but then she recognized the shape: An old man dressed in homespun and covered in mud stumpled towards them, terror written across his face. "Run fer yer live! The scarecrows! The scarecrows are alive - and they ate em all up!"

Li Kao moves to the man trying to usher him to the cart.
"My good man, Noble Farmer, calm yourself. You are in the prescence of the Number One Investigator of the Occult, the Venerable Li Kao. This is my most talented pupil Xer who has kicked to pieces many evil things including possessed and unholy farm items."
Li Kao shrugs at Xer in reply to his exagerations.
OOC: Li Kao uses diplomacy and sense motive to calm the farmer and get his story. He will then use detect magic towards the field to see if he can sense any magically animated scarecrows. If he's at any point interrupted by said evil scarecrows he will cast sanctuary on the farmer and begin buffing Xer.
I will head for the tree line to see if I can spot anything odd. I won’t venture too far in.
Li it might make sense for us to hustle into town to see what is going on and if they have heard of anything like this.
